<h3><strong>Position Summary:</strong></h3><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Conveyor Mechanic</strong> to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing conveyor systems used in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and has a strong background in material handling systems.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h3><ul><li>Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on various conveyor systems (belt, roller, automated).</li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues including belts, motors, rollers, gearboxes, and pulleys.</li><li>Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding/fabrication equipment as needed.</li><li>Align, tension, and calibrate conveyor components to ensure proper function.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.</li><li>Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.</li><li>Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to support system reliability.</li><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.</li><li>Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records and service logs.</li></ul><h3><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h3><ul><li>High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.</li><li><strong>3+ years of hands-on experience</strong> maintaining and repairing conveyor systems and industrial equipment.</li><li>Strong understanding of mechanical systems including motors, bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, and couplings.</li><li>Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical diagrams, schematics, and maintenance manuals.</li><li>Skilled in the safe use of tools and equipment (hand tools, power tools, welding, cutting).</li><li>Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, sensors, limit switches) are a plus.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and stand/walk for long periods.</li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs.</li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.</li></ul><h3><strong>Preferred Skills:</strong></h3><ul><li>Welding and fabrication experience</li><li>Basic understanding of PLCs or automation systems</li><li>Forklift certification or willingness to obtain</li><li>Familiarity with warehouse or industrial safety practices</li></ul><h3><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</strong></h3><ul><li>Competitive hourly wage or salary (DOE)</li><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>401(k) with employer match</li><li>Paid time off and company holidays</li><li>Opportunities for overtime and career advancement</li></ul><p><br></p>
